I cant play the game :(

Ive been trying to play and every time i launch the game steam says its running but nothing happens, i temporarily was able to play via launching the game through the exe in the local files but now it just opens the window does the loading sign and sits on a black screen no matter what i do. Ive tried every fix i could find and nothings worked

fully restart steam, not just close the window, make sure steam isnt running as a task

Ive fully restarted steam, my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared my cache, and various other methods and none have worked :(

have you tried waiting a while on the black screen? it might be compiling shaders, maybe. maybe just let it sit for a LONG time. somtimes unreal engine games are like that

I have tried to run this 4 separate times in the span of 40 minutes. The first time it froze after closing the movement tutorial screen, the second it froze when trying to open the options menu since it opened in windowed, third it never opened, and fourth it opened I just got a white screen. I can't believe how egregiously bad. I spent $10 extra to play early and I can't even play early because of how bad it is. I'm just at a shock at how it even got to this state like who saw it in this state and thought hmm yeah let's release this early. The first game was phenomenal so this is extremely disappointing.

I'll try to run it again in the morning as waiting seemed to work for some people but if that doesn't work and the devs/company don't step in ASAP I think I'm going to have to refund my most anticipated game of the year. I don't even know if I would consider buying it at a later date. If it came out this bad and it's not resolved before the game is actually released I don't know how much I'd trust them to make it better in the future.

when i stopped playing the game it said it was still running i had to tell steam to stop it.

check task manager and see if it is still running and force it to stop

I let it sit on the black screen for almost an hour but i can try to let it sit for longer

After removing EPIC entirely, the game started working fine from Steam. Maybe you should try that too.

This worked for me! im installing it again to double check but it fixed it for me

I had to uninstall the entire epic games launcher

Every time I run the game steam says "running install script ()" and does something for ~10 minutes and only after it finishes the game finally starts.
