We gotta manually back up our saves, the Devs left the name of the game as the default file name "Game"
which means is if any other dev team makes the same mistake and we play their game. we will lose the save for Fantasy Life unless we have a manual back up

that doesn't make sense... the save file should be in its own directory for fantasy life, and if any other dev decides to use fantasy life's save directory for their save files and name it game, then theres a problem.

thats the thing tho, they left it as unreal engine's default file name "Game"

if any other dev team forgets to change that to their own project's name their saves will over write Fantasy Life's
doesnt the game have cloud

Where is the save file even located?

Save file seems to be located at: 'C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\LEVEL5 Inc_\FANTASY LIFE i\Users\fdffefd24451dc8b\Saved'.

The config files seems to be located at: 'C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Game\Saved'.

That first one just looks like system data, not save file. Date modified isn't being updated when you save.

Regardless, like the first reply said, save files being named the same as other games isn't an issue at all as long as it's not saved in the exact same spot on your computer as any other game, which if it's contained in the game's own folders, is not going to be a problem.
I've tried deleting both of those and the game still knows my game save. So I don't think it's either of those files.

you reversed. LocalLow is about setting and Local is about save.

It does. So if that were to happen Steam would have you download your old savefile and fix the issue.

I transferred both to the save location on my deck, and the save didn't transfer.

STEAM WEBSITE/account/remotestorage - you can download your save from here, it seems

I didn't put a link because I don't want people to think it's a scam.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\48191671\2993780\remote\002DAE74-00-gamedata.bin"

Seems to be the only place the save data is located. I've been backing it up once per day while playing.
