Am I missing something with the Blacksmith profession?

I got like 4 greats in a row trying to make the sword. and it's still a failure?? It's so hard, for me at least, to get anything higher that "great".

You have a limited number of rounds to do it during crafting, so if your Blacksmithing is not high enough, you won't be able to complete the item with those limited rounds. When picking what to craft, it shows the suggested Blacksmithing level (eg, 100, 120, or 165). do more ingots and such to level up and get more skills.
