OK - I have been asking and there is enough interest to raise a crowdfund to reboot the game, AND I can get the original IP from the owner. I can't get the dev team (they are all ROCK STARS at places like Creative Assembly, EA, Google, Microsoft, SONY, and so on now!), but there is enough commercial interest to make something happen.

Step One: crowdfund a design, some art, and some video content.

Risk: lose it all, but learn something

Step Two: raise crowdfund and get a publisher to be interested

Risk: lose it all and get miserable

Step Three: raise game finance and assemble team

Risk: major embarrassment and personal financial pain

Step Four: make game

Risk: ego annihilation and despair

Step Five: release game

Risk: commercial failure and sadness
