open Dosboxblood.conf in notepad and edit Blood.exe to Crytic.exe save and hit play, (2nd from last line.)
Seems they really forgot to include a launcher? Well, let's just build your own simple launcher in Doxbox!

- Go to the Blood directory in your Steam folder (In the library: Right click on Blood --> Properties --> Local files --> Browse local files)
- Edit the file "dosboxBlood.conf" with a text editor like Notepad
- Search for the line "blood.exe" at the very end of the file
- Replace the line "blood.exe" with the following text:

@ECHO @ECHO 1) Blood @ECHO 2) Cryptic Passage @ECHO 3) Exit @ECHO @ECHO on @choice /c123 /s Choose game or exit [1-3]: /n if errorlevel 3 goto exit if errorlevel 2 goto cryptic if errorlevel 1 goto blood :blood cls blood.exe exit :cryptic cls cryptic.exe cls exit :exit exit

- Save the file

From now, when clicking on the "play" button in Steam will run a simple launcher, where you can choose from Blood, Cryptic Passage or simply exit. RedEye's solution might also work, but it's more comfortable with this simple launcher.

There's a Blood Launcher from a Duke4 member called Skulldog iirc, could be nice to try it out too

Could I use something similar to launch user maps?
Obeed Aug 14, 2014 @ 4:58pm
Awesome!, Cheers for the link mate. I have taken up map making again and and needed to test out a few things in-game.. I have dug up a huge Single player map that I started building years ago the map is about 60% done, last edited in 1997! Can not wait to finish it and give it a play through :D

Nice :)

You could talk about it to PostMortem peeps, one of the last still active Blood community:

Awesome, cheers mate! I really got the blood bug bad again at the moment... I have even been building this map in my dreams. It is a shame Blood is sorta in limbo with no source code released but I am still loving this old girl, and hey the graphics are no worse than Minecraft.. and come with a whole lot more BLOOD! >:)

Just a bump for those using the GOG version of the game. This update to the conf works but you're actually looking for a file called:

dosboxBlood_single.conf

Open the above in a text editor and follow the OP's instructions. :)

This worked perfectly on win7.
But now on win10 it flickers and has no sound.
Help!
