Dark Sector
Is Warframe and Dark Sector related?
I have a feeling that Warframe is a sequel to Dark Sector 'cause: Hayden Tenno was the first because he invented the exo-suit (I think). And that the term "Tenno" was derived from his surname....and the technocyte virus is the same virus that infected the grineer and corpus into becoming the infestation.... I don't really know about the game itself. But I do play warframe...And I read about Dark Sector on the wiki page and would like to discuss this with the gamers here. Pls comment!

Yes, they are. Hayden was infected and now has a controllable body-morphing ability. (similar to Prototype) Warframe is in the far future, but they seem to share the same universe. Anyone know if there are comics or books that are canon to this?

no, i do not. but i can confirm that Warframe is in the far future, as Hayden Tenno WAS the first "Tenno", being the first "Excalibur" warframe. According to the lore in warframe, "Excalibur was the first"
In addition, the Glaive in waframe says it was used by the first Tenno. (i.e. Hayden)
I know they are connected, but i am interested in the progression that occurs between the two games.

Yes, I am also interested. A book, game or fanfic based on this could be quite interesting, especially as worked into the Warframe scenarios. Too bad game schools like DigiPen could not use licenced material like this.
DE has given conflicting statements regarding the continuity of darksector and the warframe universe. A lot of warframes story and references come from dark sector, but DE is pretty hush about it. They are kind of giving it the "zelda time-line" treatment, it's so confusing that people can't figure it out, but at the same time, the people who attempt to figure it out, and try to break it down end up not only confusing themselves, but the people who were already confused about the time-time to begin with.
so Hayden is Excalibur in Warframe right?

Hayden was the original Excalibur. It's doubtful that the Excalibur in the game is the same. However, Warframe did allow for the purchase of a limited release excalibur skin that basically made you Hayden Tenno from dark sector. I think DE likes to have the fans make their own lore, and come to their own conclusions.

Well in the Excalibur profile say that this is the original one, so that should mean he is Hayden.

Perhaps, but I think the codex was reffering to Excalibur to be the first tenno to awaken. Who knows.:ftired:
yeah maybe.
First of all. Warframe and Dark sector are two different games. There is however some simillarities. 1) A suit of armor that enhances the physical abbillities of it's wielder. 2) The Lotus mark 3) A weapon called glaive.

Where does it say that Hayden was an Excalibur? Yes the "Proto-Armor" in warframe is used for Excalibur but it's never said that Hayden was an Excalibur. (Besides, Excalibur doesn't have Invisiblity and an energy shield that can reflect bullets.

Now besides the fact that these items are in both games, when you draw information from the codex make sure you pay attention instead of just reading what you want!

"The Sentients had won" Who are the sentients? The russians maybe? "They had turned our weapons, our technology, agains't us. The more advanced we became, the greater our losses. The war was over unless we found a new way. In our desperation we turned to the void. The blinding night, the hellspace where our science and reason failed. We took the twisted few that had returned from that place. We built a frame around them, a conduit of their affliction."

!*!*!*! SPOILERS !*!*!*!

Okay let me clear a few things up. In Dark Sector you control a trained spec ops soldier named Hayden Tenno (Although it's never said that his name is Tenno...). You are dispatched to an island to kill a person known as Mezner and blow up the compound. As you finally confront Mezner he has this Psyco infected (Looks like a beefy Nyx) who can redirect bullets. This thing then stabs you and become "infected" with this oh so deadly virus. As you progress through the game you learn new abbillities (You also get the glaive almost instantly after you get infected). Most of these abbillities relate to your Glaive. Like being able to could do a Powerthrow or control it when it flies. Despite what the virus is soppuse to do (which is make you mindless mutant), you only get better and better. When you get near the end you will learn that there is a set of armor that allow it's wearer to increase their physique. This will finally make you strong enough to face Beefy Nyx.

Now i hope that this clears any kind of information that people might have. There is simply way to less lore in warframe. DE is trying to include a few things here and there. Just look entries like: Excalibur/Prime, Mag Prime, Ember/Prime. And now the the quest system.
Still so little is actually know of Warframes lore.

Good lord.:rshocked: Tbh, I know dark sector and warframe are two different games, I was just trying explain to another poster that the stories from both games are not the same. They had it in their head that Hayden Tenno was Excalibur from warframe, which is kind of strange. Then again, DE isn't really saying if the two games correlate. They are pulling a "miyamoto explaining the zelda timeline" bit it seems. There is no concrete evidence that the two games are related, however, there are references from warframe that add into dark sector, but DE has denied a lot of it. In any case, it's all speculation. But still, it's fun to come to your own conclusions regarding the lore of the games.

Excatly. I just like to clarify if I can. With a "Brilliant" mind like mine (That brilliant is suppose to reek of sarcasm, in case people couldn't tell), I might aswell use what I know when I finally know something. And they said video games made you stupid. HAH! I digress! (Atleast I think I digress... What the hell does that even meen?)

Thanks also, for the lively discussion. Hope it doesn't become a watered-down Saturday morning cartoon (e.g. "Tenno and the Guardians")! Q: Any mods or extra single-player content for Dark Sector out there?
