FlatOut 2

FlatOut 2

Soundtrack
Alright, I searched the topics for this (all 6 pages of 'em), but does anyone know how to download your own tunes to this game, cuz about 90% of the music on here sux IMO?

My last wife left me for a (holds down bile) Nickelback fan. It makes me drive angry to hear them.....and that's not good for anyone.

Honestly I can't tell if you're kidding, but if you're not, than you'll just want to turn off the music all together, because I can't think of any ways you could add your own music.

Hey schimmel, add me and we can pm to discuss this (maybe tmw night, 7/22?). Kinda lengthy to vomit it all up on this thread. I recently modded mine to have customized music, as a two-fold approach: 1) I first removed ALL references to Nickelcrap tracks so they dont even load anymore, and 2) I added my own custom songs. Perhaps I should post an Instructables or something soon, but feel free to PM me in the meantime.

First you need an audio converter that can encode for .ogg audio files (which is Flat Out's code). Make sure you set the converter program to match the same bit rate (kbps) as the original songs. Next, make a copy of the game's song folder at data/music. Next, with your copied"music" folder, change out your songs one at a time, for the originals. You'll need to match song length closely for it to work best, and you MUST be the exact same length or a tad bit shorter than the song you're replacing. Then you take your slightly shorter (.ogg formatted) song and re-name it to the matched original song using the same syntax. For example, track 1 is 32Leaves_Waiting at a length of 4668 kb. I simply took Dio's "Stand up and Shout" at a length of 4667 kb, and re-named it 32Leaves_Waiting. Once you've finished changing FOUC's songs for yours, go to the game directory's data file and replace the "music" file with the one that has your songs in it. Worked great for me, but only problem is that indiuvidual artists record their music at different sound levels, so you'll notice some songs are loud, and others not so much. I'm sure a good home stereo system can help even out the recording levels to fix this problem- Good luck.
