How does "petals" functionality works?

Didn't received any, aside from the first one.
And "loot box" functionality doesn't work as well.
Money gets subtracted then reimbursed.

The only thing that I can think of is that functionality requires internet, as I'm running it offline (literally, everything's blocked via firewall)

Yes, it would require internet access, because it stores petals in your steam inventory

I would prefer a desktop pet to be running offline (and you can play the game in offline mode by just launching the .exe directly), but for the petals and achievement functionality it unfortunately has be launched through steam. All of the cosmetic items from loot boxes are also stared in your steam inventory, which is why you can't open or redeem them.

The game uses Steam inventory system, and Steam inventory needs internet access to work with items on steam.

SO, you have to be online for it to work.

Ok, so now I understand why some things shows (and will) as empty and things like lootboxes doesn't work (and will not) :D
