Error: Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Runtime required ?

Hey Guys,

old Problem. Game don't start -need MS Visual C++ 2015. But it is still running on my PC? I deinstall and add it new - nothing.

But: Repairing C++ on Windows there is an unknown Error. All my Games run - only this dosen't work :(

Can anyone help me?

I had this problem with Grim Dawn, apparently it's a bug with Windows Update. I can't remember what I did to fix it exactly but I'm pretty sure I had to uninstall all the C++ updates then manually reinstall Windows Update from microsoft from the downloadable packaged installer, then disconnect the internet and install said windows update, then install the required versions of Visual Studio C++ redist both 32 and 64 bit.

But I know I ran into problems that I can't remember right now.

Edit: The required C++ redist updates should be in every steam games folder.

I'd suggest completely removing all C++ redists, and fresh-installing - but I think you already tried that. I've honestly never seen this kind of problem with the redist install :( There looks to be something wrong with that install for sure - but I've also never tried the repair option myself.

Im having the same problem and my computer wont let me unistall c++ 2015 so I can install a fresh one. Ive tried microsoft fix problems that block programs from uninstalling. Dont know what to do I was having this problem with the beta as well.

If it doesn't work properly and you have the error code "0x8024001e" type this in command line as administrator:

After that try to uninstall VS 2015 and install it again from local files.

Just find a solution for my problem for windows 7(sry for my english) Download this file for windows 7 -"KB2999226" but don`t start it yet. Press Windows button->standarts-> click rmb on command line and run it as administrator, then write down (or copy paste) - "net stop wuauserv" this will stop your windows 7 auto update system, because this is a part of a problem...if its not stops, reboot your system and try again.
After that, press on file you download at start "KB2999226", it will find the files your system needs. Then, reboot your system. After that, go to steam/steamapps/common/SpaceHulkDeathwing/_Commonredist/vc_redist and install vc_redist for your system, if its Win7x64 - x64, or Win7x32 -x86. If its ask to repair or delete, just uninstall and then install again from this directory. Now try to run the game.

This fixed my problem and now i am playing a game. Try this one and let me know if it works, if its don`t, try to add more commands to cmd

net stop wuauserv
net stop BITS
net stop CryptSvc
cd %systemroot%
ren SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
Click on "KB2999226" and install, after that reboot your PC.
