Edit: Sorry, I obviously meant Combi-Bolters.
Who knows, maybe we will in a future update. I certainly hope they're planning to support the game with plenty of post-release content.
It is either multi-melta or combi-bolter... pick one. ;)
This restriction has nothing to do with boarding a ship, at this point it must be asumed that the different systems are simply not compatible to some degree. Yet given we have PlasCas that might change in future iterations.
As for stuff that punches through other stuff, the entire arsenal of the Terminators is made of such tools; once you deploy a Terminator Squad you have long stoped caring about "collateral damage".
Melta weapons are not chemical weapons. They're microwave beam weapons. =p
Okay... so according to some nitwit who wrote a codex revision without bothering to consult previous editions, a Melta gun is actually either a Flamer or a Plasma gun. Got it. -.-
(cuz, y'know... Flamers use aerosolized Promethium to create the flame, and Plasma is a nuclear reaction that turns vapor into a semi-liquid explosive state.)
Jebus, it would be nice if the Games Workshop editors were not always asleep at the wheel...
