A helmet for the Librarian!
he needs one, it would only make him look more badass, and you know what? he would look really good with a deathwatch librarian helmet...

Excuse me he has a DEATHWING libaran hemet on already, so it's open faced, what could be more badass then that already.

I said DEATHWATCH, not deathwing, but yes, he does already look badass, especially with the knight of vengance armor, but a deathwatch helmet would still be cool...

And the helmet of which I speak is particularly that of deathwatch epistolary librarian Sabazius
Piderman Apr 26, 2018 @ 12:46pm
Why would he wear Deathwatch Gear, when he isnt even assigned to it?
Ashmodath Apr 26, 2018 @ 2:12pm
he wouldn't have to be deathwatch, because the helmet I'm referencing isn't a Deathwatch only helmet, it just happened to be used by a deathwatch member

librarians use their psy-hood instead of helmets, more concerning is the melee terminator without helmet...and the fact 70% of the new skins remove helmets from all classes

it is actually possible for a librarian to have a helmet along with a psychic hood, but you're totally right, the melee terminator definitely needs a helmet!

Well, if a genestealer gets their rending claws up in your business, a helmet isn't going to help, especially considering Space Marine skulls are like concrete to start with. My concern is that A, the Tac. Dread armor will be unable to augment their senses, and B, if the atmosphere becomes unbreathable, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ RIP to the poor lad without a respirator.

yes, but Terminator armor is described as being as strong as a tanks armor, so a helmet would still be useful.

Even tanks have weaknesses. Sure, the whole set would make you very strong, but not invincible. With all the augmentation the Helmet gives the user, I doubt it has very much armor.

Terminator armors are bulky as hell (even helmets are disfigured and massive and have these "snouts" to have in-build augmentation devices) and can shrug off cannon rounds from tanks. But by lore even basic genestealers pose a threat to terminator armors as

"The upper sets of limbs are distinctly different, the foremost pair ending in razor-sharp claws capable of slicing through Tactical Dreadnought Armour (ref. MGP.Macragge. 1st Company.qv)"

At least if not dying to hits, rendering the armour unusabe and making it a trap to the space marine, then a coffin.

Main issue with having NO helmet is

1) ability to coup with toxic environments as in usual case, space hulk has many ships = many unstable reactors = radioactive fog.

2) helmet visor feed. In books they have tactical map displays and direct camera feed from other terminator's view, as terminator armour collar/shoulderplates/cowl over helmet are blocking the view, they rely, in most cases, to that view the other one sees. In narrow places you can't turn and turning/twisting on waist axis is troublesome task anyway when wearing terminator armour.

Those really are the two advantages to having a helmet, but for 1, a respirator does the job almost as well, and 2, some Space Marines find the helmet takes more from their senses than they naturally have/trained to get. Armor isn't the reason why they wear helmets, at least, most of the time.
It would be nice if each class has different helmet choice they could choose from.
Some of the armour choices appears to have a locked head/helmet look.
It would be a shame to have to skip some of the choice just because the have or do not have a helmet on.

good suggestion - throwing it in the closed beta forum. right now yes the armor comes as one model
Ashmodath Apr 29, 2018 @ 10:51am
the librarian armor is badass in all, but a helmet in my opinion would still be cool, and it comes with more advantages than if you had no helmet.

PS. thanks for posting that in the forums hillslam!
