Scyther Strain wtf

Alright seriously what do I do about Scyther strains? Im on Chapter 6 or whatever it is where we plant some beacon and then shortly afterward two scythers and at least one psychic hybrid spawn out of nowhere and murdernate the whole party.
They tank fire and lightning, kill everyone in the party in one hit and if Im lucky I might get a block or hit in before Epic Librarian of the Deathwing also goes down. Seems pretty unbalanced considering I can just tank regular genestealers at this point. Seems to me the regular strain genestealers should have hit like a truck like the scyther but gone down to a single bolter round. But I digress - old school nostalgia affects me in this game.
How do people manage this on hard? Give Barachiel a thunderhammer and just spam powers?

scythe are very slow, so you can easily backtrack while shooting it. plasma cannon staggers them, shockwave staggers them and they cannot go through small spaces/doors. if you want to cheese the game, go thunder hammer together with barachiel.

Yes. At least that's how I did it.

Give Barathiel the ThunderHammer and StormShield. Equip the knockback spell for your librarian.
Use the knockback to stunlock the broodlord. But honestly if Barathiel has the THSS he will solo both these beasties without any help from you, and not break a sweat.
You need really only use the stunlock to keep you and Nahum from getting ganked by the 2nd broodlord while Barathiel plays "will it smoosh" with the first.

Spontaneous Combustion can potentially (it's a bit hit n miss) and definitley Vortex of Doom will usually kill these and Broodlords quite easily. But that's the campaign only, for SP special missions, Like what everyone else is saying, Give Barachiel (or anyone in the party for that matter), a hammer and that soon puts an end to them too.

Thanks all - 'Cheese the game with B and a Thunder Hammer' is basically the only guide this game needs. Is it just me or is basically everything useless except your force powers and therefore one must carry the Bolter and sword or axe combo for the cooldown, and Narum must carry his Chainfist/Gene seed retrieval device he specifically mentions he doesnt need because someone else we never see is coming to get this sacred Geneseed.
