Ending Question (WARNING ~Spoilers~)

So i just finished the final chapter, 9, and im kinda confused. What happened to the whole "Umbra Mortalis", the thing that was more dangerous than genestealers? Did they cut that? Also did it ever explain why the chapter was faceing disaster and if the geneseed samples shed any light on this

Was hoping for it to end with a Patriarch boss battle for that. Also, they just didn't want their SM chapters gene to get back to the Hive Fleet. You saw the 'evolved' Genestealers in the game that came from that stock, on board a Hive ship it would have been mutated further.

Yeah i can understand not wanting their geneseed used like that, but what about the umbra mortalis? I thought that there was going to be more to the story than just genestealers.

I assume the umbra mortalis was the hive fleet that the rest of the chapter was fighting off. Some hive ships were attracted by the psykers on the space hulk and were coming to incorporate the geneseed.
