Instant Kill?

Hi guys I'm on chapter 4 or 5, and for some reason even though I'm close to full health, I see some bright orange flash and then I'm dead in the middle of combat. It's happened so many times and with so much time between saves every time I reach that point I have to replay 15 minutes to get there again - only to die again. Is this a bug or some sort of secret super stealer? The death screen says I was killed by a psychic or hybrid or something. How do I survive that? I don't even know where the attack came from.

What difficulty are you playing on?

Lions Sword and No Mercy (3rd and 4th difficulty) respectively -- the spit will 1 shot you... as well as the assassin invis guys hitting you in the back.

the orange flash is a psy attack from tyranid psykers they can be hard to spot but they are easy to dispatch they hit fairly hard and the shield wont block it so best to put those tiny lethal lil buggers on your kos list.

Oh, yeah, almost passed the first level yesterday on max difficulty and FF on with 3 other brethren, when around last objective one of the dudes decided to open a just locked door, - BAAM two of them standing next to each other dispatched by the genestealer psy attack and two of us left for dead...
