I think they are good for newbies, but should not show for higher difficulty levels. Too much of a "givaway".
in the far future, an auspex would likely be able to show a void or something and some tactician servitor would say "a genestealer can fit through there, might make sense to mark it on the map we give to the terminators just in case".
In the specific map, genestealers can come out of many locations that aren't marked by the symbol.
Your best tools are your motion detector and ears. You can often hear them scrabbling and clawing their way thru ductwork and inter-deck spaces to get ahead of or flank you, and then they come out of all sorts of nooks and crannies.
