Why is everyone so annoyed about how the main character looks?

IV seen the original model for Joanna dark and even the pictures of her from perfect dark zero and In my opinion, the depiction of her in this version of the game Is a good improvement.

Realistically, you won't see a woman with thicc curves, big breasts and a cutesy ahh face to be a spy operative. They would be more fit. More normal I guess. That's what they've done here.

What if... it's a video game? Realism really needs to be meticulously followed when you see things such as aliens and clones?

On the other hand the trailer does not have the same feeling as the original, it looks like it's a different series with the name on it.

Some ppl think that doom is toxic masculinity? Huh, never heard of that before. Is it like back in the 80s - 90s ppl thought that rock and roll and heavy metal was Satanist cuz if you played a rock and role record backwards it could say some satanic messages.

After rewatching the trailer I understood what was the issue with it:

Joanna is trying too hard at being serious with all of his dialogues.

Sure, it's not a comedic game (a spy thriller with a conspiracy behind two companies supported by two opposite alien factions) yet in the original she still had some quips ("are they all expandable?" answered with a "don't joke, if the key holder dies it will be rendered useless" or even "me and my big mouth!" as it detected an intruder when hacking the computer.)

Also parkour was a novelty in 2008 but nowadays is it really that surprising?

I don't say that Parkour isn't but honestly this is also a spy action series.

Maybe to go on roofs so you could follow somebody without being noticed (like in Sly Cooper or Assassin's Creed) but other than that it's not Mirror's Edge.

Because we're tired of seeing boring women in western media. Games are fantasy. If you aren't going to let us craft our own character, then you need to making a character that's visually appealing with compelling personality that we'll be journeying with for 40+ hours at $60 or more.
