Too boring
This game gets boring when you have been playing for 5 real days, and every time you make even slight progress, the game tries its hardest to wreck the escape. No matter how long I play, the game rids me of any progress, there is no easy way to get out. Even the easy levels are impossible to escape from. Sorry if I annoy anyone, but I'm kinda regretting buying this.

Did you try looking up some walkthroughs online? It's a lot easier then you're making it sound. A lot of it comes down to building up intelligence and scrounging around for items in any way you can to collect tools.

At the very least, Center Perks should be simple. You just need a guard uniform and files and duct tape for cutters and a bed dummy, as well as a way out of the building, then you'd be golden as long as you aren't cutting or digging in front of a guard. The rest is up to you.

And just to clarify, escaping from prison should NOT be easy. :)

As has allready been said.. but I will say it again for your viewing pleasure..

The game is not hard, its about planning and foreward thinking.

The game is about the journey not the ending.. once you escape your save is deleted and time to choose another prison to start.

Almost all errors which get you busted (i havent found any gamebreaking bugs yet) are caused by the player. Forget your bed dummy..?

Its partially luck (read loot) driven.. I was in prison for 24 days.. had a lovely tunnel network, more loot that you could shake a stick at BUT in the end a guard got beaten in the showers so I copied his key, escaped that night. All my effort was in theory wasted. I could have done the same on day 4.. Play the game how you want to play.

A lot of the game really is trial and error, mostly error. Sometimes the game will not allow you to make ONE mistake, and that's where the thrill of escape comes from. You're in prison, the Guards have no plans other than to keep you inside, if the game was easy then it really would be boring.

But seriously, I know how difficult it can be to get used to the game, especially if you're a little impatient. It's a sandbox game, it's about learning and taking time to do things, and a lot of luck. Don't let the jibes and jokes get you down, just check out a video walkthrough and familiarize yourself with the game, soon you'll be complaining that it's too easy.

Candy is right, sometimes it really is just about dumb luck. You'll get the hang of it when you've spent more time understanding the game.

OmniPhantom is right.

Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of this game is indeed trial-and-error. In particular it can be frustrating trying to understand late night mechanics since it involves repeating the same repititous day over and over just waiting for the night to see one's errors.

My advice to OP is put the game down and come back later. In my opinion this is the type of game you play almost compulsively.

Maybe eventually someone will make a spolier-free boot camp like map that teaches you a variety of tactics and consequences, because indeed some mechanics just don't make sense from a real world perspective.

edit* I see it now. A tutorial involving Jimmy Locke in his young days practicing a variety of tactics in an army base or something of the likes.

Surprised there's not many very negative comments which is unusual for a thread that involves someone complaining, especially on Steam. Now about this thread, I haven't been playing this game long and I've already escaped Central Perks and I know a lot about how this game works already. It doesn't take a long time to learn how to play this game, all you have to do is watch a Youtube series on The Escapist which shouldn't be too difficult, to get you on the right track. Just to clear things up in case anyone thinks I'm being sarcastic, rude or just a jerk in general, I'm not.

There's no reason to be negative about someone just stating their opinion and their playing experience. He even apologized beforehand, and so far he hasn't replied with an ungrateful or insulting comment that bluntly ignored the help he's getting. If someone feels genuinely disappointed, then they have the right to say it just in case another person can offer some advice.

I'm kinda glad that we aren't attacking very much, it's just not a good attitude to have on any forum and honestly ganging up on someone's stupidity or mistakes just makes people look like little douches.

Even if he doesn't reply to the advice, it's better than him replying with some snarky or ungrateful comment. Maybe. Kinda. I 'unno.....

I know, all of these things are true, but it still feels, well, dull. After all of these posts (Of which I am surprised people actually answered, as I was told they wouldn't) I spent time playing it, and the moment any progress was made, "Nice try, Tobias. We found your (Escape plan). You must go to solitary and never leave.

To be honest, I dunno why I'm bothering, I'm being released on bail tomorrow.
