Poster nerf?

Would really like to see these get nerfed soon, just too easy to craft and way to powerful for their use.

I would see something more reasonable be like, Original wall block or the Fake one + tooth paste gets you a one time use cover, and will need tooth paste every time you need to use it again, I don't see slowing progression down and making it more difficult and easier to make mistakes a bad thing.

If poster had durability it would be plenty fair in my eyes, more permament solutions should also be more difficult ones. I.E like how Vent covers are now, if you unscrew original one, it goes back up at 5%, vs the fake version which breaks randomly.

Thats all part of same thing, buff the more difficult crafted items, and nerf the easier stuff.

I'd like to see it so its not so easy to carry everything you could possibly need for an escape and have to improvise a little to cover up your tracks

I think poster are good like this, they are pretty expensive and dup dape is really important in almost every escape

Maybe should be limited to certain area's? Personal spaces and such else should have to rely on fake wall blocks

The poster is a little too good for how little effort it takes to get one. I mean in comparison the fake wall block requires 5 items to craft and breaks randomly. Duct tape is valuable, but I wouldn't call it rare either. Considering you only need to obtain two items compared to five your chances of making one is far better than making a wall block.

When you weight the fake wall against the poster there is literally no reason not to use the poster. It doesn't count as contraband, infinite durability, requires fewer items to make, etc. There is nothing the wall block does better apart from maybe you can carry all the items through a contraband detector and assemble it on the other side, but then again you can assemble the poster before walking through the detector and its fine. So yea poster is completely superior in every way.

That and do the guards really not notice all these bloody posters hanging on the wall?

I know its a game, but it looks silly. That and I wish it wasn't random if a fake item will decay. I would rather have an idea when I should expect it to break.

I really think it's not too easy to craft. Firstly, you're relying on two random number generators. You'll need to keep searching desks and vendors until you find them selling what you need. Even then, it costs about $45 for all the ingredients. Once you've got that, you're expending valuable duct tape that could be used for much more useful things. Duct tape is literally gold, so having to use it here makes the poster a lot less OP.

I can craft several in one prison with little effort. Duct tape is valuable, but considering you only need 1 or 2 posters for most prisons, it's not like you have to use massive amounts of it. The magazines you can stock pile until you get the tape because the only other use for them is giving to other prisoners. In comparison the super glue you need two of to make one fake wall block and also a bottle of ink. Both of those items can be used to make other useful items like the guard outfit or fake vent cover and both seem to spawn at the same rate (or at least close enough) as duct tape.

Even if we assume that duct tape has a rarer spawn rate (Let's assume for the purpose of argument, 1% compared to 10% for most other items) the odds of getting the 3 random spawn items (Ink and 2 Glue) at 10% is still equal to or worse than getting two random spawn items. And if the rates are equal, you are statistically more likely to craft a poster than a fake wall block.

The only thing that makes a poster even remotely "harder" to make compared to the other options is that duct tape is useful for other purposes, but if we are looking at the chances of getting the items you need from just random selling/cell searching it is way easier to make the poster.

I would even argue that if you are trying to speed run the prison, the poster is still superior in every way.
