I hate you so very much. I'm ready to pull my hair out. I suck so badly at this. I've been playing for days and still can't escape the first prison. I at least know that if I ever go to prison, I'll be staying put, helps to know that. I won't waste so much time planning my real escape.

Here's some tips then.

You could smuggle forks from the canteen to your desk and chip the wall in your room(the wall that separates you and that box), and cover it up with a poster(duct tape+magazine). That way you gain access to that box(which is a prisoner stash), and also more space to stash your contraband(red items), without the need to put them in your desk.

You could also stash stuff into the vents after you have opened it with a screwdriver. Remember when you are going in and out of the vents, always put down the vent cover, as you won't know if any guards walk by. Before you go to stash your items, always cover up your cell with blankets. Did you know you could steal your inmate's blankets?

Also, an easy way to escape for dummies is to create a powerful weapon(say, a nun-chuck, with a wire, and two timbers), train your character to have 100 strength and 100 speed, and recruit a few buddies to take over the prison. You can try to steal combs and toothbrushes from cells and use them on walls to create shivs. Gifting this to inmates raises their opinion of you. When their opinion is higher than 80, simply press Q when you hover your mouse above them and they will follow you. After training your character to become an absolute beast(100 strength and speed), and recruiting one or two buddies, just knock out a few guards indoors(you will get shot at outdoors), and the warden will send you a message saying that enough is enough, they will let you just walk out.

Lastly, there are tons of guides online, and on the community guides page. Sure there are trolls here and there, but there are always people to help you. Feel free to look around. We all suck at the beginning. Good luck and have fun escaping.
