Should I play The Escapists before The Escapists 2?

Is The Escapists 2 a direct sequel (or prequel) to The Escapists, or is it a standalone, and improved version of it?
Would you recommend buying both of them or only The Escapists 2?

Honestly, I would recommend only buying The Escapists. In my opinion the second game didn't use the potential of the series and took away some fun things from the first game. If you do want to buy both games, play The Escapists first, rather than The Escapists 2. The second game is so easy it just hurts. In the first game you had fun from exploring the level and finding weak points, but in the second one, you can just hit "m" and you see everything the prison has to offer.
The Escapists will grant you fun for much longer if you get into it. The Escapists 2 is fun for 5 hours, but after that it's boring, because there's no challenge.
And while I'm already saying it, The Escapists 2 is a sequel to The Escapists. Graphic wise? Improved (even though I prefer the style of the first game more). Gameplay wise? Definitely a downgrade. The Escapists 2 is just not worth the money of you ask me.
