Ylands

Are we beta testing again?
So apparently there aren't any more wrecks to explore. No traders with cool gear like bolt action rifles. Propeller pack is useless. This is really feeling like early access all over again.

plenty of wrecks, to explore, traders are spawn-able now, propeller pack was simply balanced instead of being broken and unlimited. As far as missing guns idk, if they're unavailable I'm sure it will get fixed at some point. I still have all the guns I found before the update, so it's not like they removed them from the game or anything

I've been through about 4 locations since the new update and have yet to find any wrecks. Haven't found any traders either other than the ones which we can summon which don't sell anything you can't make or find yourself. They are of no use to me so I'm not even bothering with them now.

Make that 5 locations. No wrecks. Not all, but about half the islands appear to be more or less devoid of any set pieces//buildings, just plants and animals, nothing else interesting about them. I may as well not even bother leaving the home island. It's beyond boring now.

Okay, I gave this some thought, and I think I know what is happening.
During testing there were a lot of ylands that had encounter placeholders.

So when you are discovering unpopulated ylands I believe it is that those ylands have been
designated to encounters they have not yet finished developing.

The same yland would likely be populated in the future once the encounter catalog is more
complete.

Guess I'll have to wait and play the game in the future, then. It's a snooze fest right now.

I mean, there used to be stuff on all the islands before the last update. We're 6 versions into the release game and they're backtracking once again, making things worse with every update.

It's not really back tracking, more like making room and reorganizing. The way it is now when you do find encounters they are more impressive. Not because of rarity but because of size/detail due to like encounters being grouped together to create scenes

Well, it's gone from enjoyable to less enjoyable, that sounds like backward progress to me. Same thing happened when they switched from the original single huge map to the tiny map and multiple tiny maps. Apparently we're never going to get the huge maps back so I'll at least make due with the small ones. But now the small ones have gotten even worse. I'll give it some time and see if they improve it again, though. Meanwhile I have funner games to play. So this one goes on the back burner, yet again.

Don't bother trying to convince him they are ruining the game constantly, hes in denial

extreme denial. At least this game has one (extremely) vocal fanboy who cant see the water for the rain.
