Ylands

What biomes for sulphur?
Besides desert biome, which can spawn sulfur?

Sadly, it seems I may only have one small desert biome yland, on which was a rather small amount of sulfur (300-400 bullets worth). My current build yland has a MASSIVE cave complex with DOZENS of mutated creatures, and I'm currently out of ammo because of a shortage of sulfur.

Devs, if you are reading, for the love of Ylands God(s), please make resources easier to distinguish from one another on the map. I'm tired of trekking all over the place to find flint deposits when I'm looking for sulfur.

Also, craftable saltpeter and sulfur would be nice in cases of there not being natural deposits available.

After spending a couple of hours revisiting 8 of my 10 known ylands (did not revisit the polar ylands), I found no more sulfur. Unfortunately I've decided to resort to adding some to the desert yland via the editor. I have settled on adding the sulfur deposits to mine as an acceptable compromise rather than adding the already mined sulfur chunks to a container at my base. I wish it hadn't come to the editor option... :(

Tbh learn.. to use the crossbow. It requires some skill to use, but stone bolts are a hell of alot cheaper and much easier to make than bullets.

Yeah I'm not taking that on with a crossbow lol.

If you want to kill them all. Thats around 12 bullets per mutated alpha bear, 7 per mutated wolf alpha, 3 per mutated wolf, 10 per mutated bear. Or thereabouts. Xbow Bolts are about the same damage.. but you can make thousands of them in the time it takes to find sulfur, charcoal, saltpeter.. even with the use of craftsman potions.

Bring standing torches with you. Grenades maybe.. as well. That might be a better use of the gunpowder. Dig around edge of the cave, with shovel, keeping above the mutated.

I've also found the same cave.. and I totally agree.. I'm not standing toe to toe with that lot.

It is purely a rate of fire perspective. Xbow RoF is nowhere near what the repeating rifle RoF is. With literally dozens of these things in there, and most requiring 8 shots to kill with bullets, and the operation being EXTREMELY risky, I am not taking a chance with the slow RoF of an xbow.

As for using grenades, this cavern is still only midway down the depth of the cave complex, with more rooms and mutated creatures below. I don't wan't to use explosives and blow out the floor/celings between levels and create a giant pit thats impossible to navigate.

Don't go toe to toe, they kill you in 3 hits. In full metal armour. Otherwise make ALOT of bandages and health potions.

Bring dirt with you, to create bridges and a shovel to level them out.. make pits.. kill mutated.. fill in the holes. :)

I will have to do this anyway without making it even more like swiss cheese lol. The sulfur mountain has been added and I am currently mining away. I've seen the hell I have to wade back into for the precious yalandium dust, and I am most certainly taking a mountain of bullets with me lol.
