More sail = more speed?

Do the more sails you have (on big boat) increase the boat speed? Can anyone prove this is true?

Seems like there is dimishing returns after four but yes, adding sails does increase the speed.

You can also use engines to make the ships faster.

Must have with a steam roller is a coal bucket, fills up the steamer to the brim.
Shame is not automated or we could have longer lasting Diesel engines or Ylandium engines...

Also Steam engine provides energy.

PPS - i think the speed is capped, above 5 engines speed does not increase much. I have 6 large mats, just for OCD.

Just be careful with engines.. you can actually go so fast, the ylands load 50m in front of you and you can't stop in time.

I think 2 steam engines is more than enough for decent speed.

Best way is to switch to sail - switches off engines and have anchor lever near helm

Yeh I agree.. Never occurred to me to break the anchor switch and move it back. Good idea.

Oic, so only one can exist at the same time. Is it the same for the helm? Was thinking of putting one at front and back.. so I can navigate shallows easier.
