hooking didn't work for me until I tried to hook the spiky thing on the island to the left of the starting area with the floating balloons. In fact I had so much trouble I started this post!

Spin is pressing direction buttons clockwise or counter clock wise very fast.
Like W > A > S > D > W
Follow it with space to spin-jump or with holding crouch to spin indefinitely without pressing direction buttons.

Yea, played for about 5 min then uninstalled because of the lack of keyboard information. Devs need to stop using "we like controllers" as an excuse for being too lazy to put work into kb+m controls

I still had to rebind controlls for gamepad through steam controller settings. Since devs for no reason bound a single action (long jump) to consecutive press of THREE buttons. Three buttons man

the game is REALLY good but man they should simplify the controls of it (mainly on pc)

just to add onto this, mainly because of the compass, it was helpful for me:
3 - enables the compass
F2- enables the coins and fishes indicator
