Idea for an update / mod.

I've done some digging, and it seems a lot of people want a mod/update that could be an EASIER mode that allows players to pause the game and fix their ship.
I find it too hard to balance making sure I stay away from enemies when I have to move ONE piece of my ship that makes all other pieces fall off.

So here is my idea:
If you are out of combat for more than 10 seconds, you may get the option to pause the game and use floating parts around you and your own parts to fix/rebuild your ship without worrying about enemies coming and killing you when you have nothing attached to you.
(or maybe even limit it to only being able to rearrange parts that are already attached to you while paused.)
I feel like this will make the game much more enjoyable.
