<Steam install folder>\userdata\<Steam ID>\<Application ID>\
In our case Application ID is 298480, so you're looking for something like:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\userdata\<Your Steam USER ID>\289480\remote\saves\
We're working on a fix for the save issue but in the mean time if you fancy some file-explorer gymnastics:
The Somewhat tricky way to recover an individual save file workaround (tm):
1. Turn off steam cloud for VAS.
2. Backup your saves directory (and saves.dat if it's not broken)
3. Move your saves out of there, delete saves.dat. (make sure you did step 1 first)
4. create a new campaign game in the same campaign your save was from.
5. quit out of the game (and steam probably)
6. Copy the old save_XYZ.dat over the newly created campaign game. (i.e. rename your old save to the same name, and replace the new one)
7. Copy the .png too if you want the screenshot to be accurate. (again making sure the name is the same).
8. Load up VAS, load your game.
