Startup problems

If you're having an issue running the game - the game doesn't start up or you can't progress past character creation please try the following:

- Firstly restart steam: quit out of steam and start it again.
- Open your steam library.
- Right click on Victory At Sea and choose Properties
- Click the “Local Files” tab
- Click “Verify integrity of game cache"

This’ll take a little while to run, once it’s finished try running the game again.

If that fails to work - please reboot your computer - this will clean up any lingering processes that are preventing the steam API connecting properly.
