Browser based game in steam? Seriously?

Just.. Dunno what to say. I don't even know what's worse, browser based games in steam, or mobile apps shown as "new and awesome games" in steam

The quality of the game is usually what is wrong with browser based. It doesn't even nearly have the possibilities ANY client based game has.
Moreover, i haven't seen a free to play browser based game, that isn't p2w. Have you?

The game started life as a browser game, but over the last year we've wrote a new 3D engine and taken the game to the desktop and steam, the desktop version provides improved graphics and performance so it's a very different product than our original launch game!

Well i didn't expect other types of answers, as far as gamers, that are not interested in BBMMORPG just won't open these disscussions forum. I'm not negative about the game, just so u know, as i haven't even tried it. The whole point is - i love steam as a gaming network, where i can get quality content of different client based games, read opinions on them etc, and i personally don't like the idea of adding browser based games in steam. Absolutely the same goes for mobile apps, reworked for PC\steam.
Why? Just because the majority of BB games and mobile apps are made for use on portable devices, so we can play them while travelling, going somewhere, anywhere out of home and desktops. And the quality of this content is just worse, for the obvious reason - "the technology isn't here yet". And usual client based games\apps can offer a lot lot more. That's it, nothing else.
And if u don't like to read other people opinions, just don't open this topic, or don't answer, everyone somehow thought i was negative about the game here.

Well you are in a passive way.
Tbh. this is no longer a Browserbased game and it's client based. It doesn't even feel like a browser game.

You also claim "quality of client based games" - well if i look around on steam, there is a ♥♥♥♥ ton of crapy client based games. Don't wanna point at a specific one, but it's true.

Your post is simply not needed and passive aggressive, and that's why most of us answer like you hated on this game.

The game has a freaking steam and a normal client. Quit whining about a game you're not even part of. At least try it before complaining. There is a reason why players still play the game. It's not all about the graphics. The gameplay matters more.

Just because it's both browser/client doesn't mean it can't come to Steam and it is a game well worth it's spot in the Steam store.

This game is honestly good imo but everyone does have their own opinions of what they like/dislike in a game.

And for me, I don't really care for mobile games as much. Growing up where games aren't that portable, it doesn't bother me one bit. So I just look forward to playing Eldevin and other games when I get home. :P

Yes, there is the technology but it doesn't mean the quality of Eldevin is "worse".

Some people just don't know/remember that Minecraft started out as a browser game. Made with Java. Just like Eldevin. By the same logic, any Unity based game is a piece of crap because you can play it also in a browser. http://unity3d.com/showcase/gallery

Also, probably gonna try this game, to make some comparings with my favorite client based mmorpgs, such as old ultima online and relatively "new" wow and gw2, just to figure out for myself, what is better here and why people actually love this game, and what are the reasons to prefer this game to AAA title mmorpgs (besides that it's free)

If you played the game for a little bit, i would have respected that a lot more then "it's browser based so it sucks" Actually it's java, And it does run on a java engine.
