Use compost every time. Crop dust does not seem to help much. Drag and drop is faster for compost and seeds than right clicking. Forgot the mention scarecrow, use everytime and drag and drop.

I got to around lvl 23 farming for tailoring. I was planting just the cloth seeds and didn't use any scarecrows or anything.

Since I could use 2 plots at once (you get 2 at around lvl 11 I think), it was not possible for me to use any scarecrows/compost or anything because of how frequently the crops needed to be pruned and taken care of. It was realtively easy to raise it up by doing those tailoring seeds because the main farming xp came from making the cloth after farming the plants.

Also until you get to level 11, I think the best way is to just sheer the shigra for their wool for farming xp.

To get farming higher buy a pair of shears from the general tools vendor. Then go out and find those nice domestic sheep. Every time you get wool from a sheep it adds to the farming skill so it is very fast and 100% profit that way. You do not need to buy seeds or compost or scarecrows. You just get the wool and sell it and your farming skills goes up up up.

Agree with Strategy player, though it may not seem ure getting much xp, over time the shearing sheep tactic wins! the time it takes to travel for farmland, get compost/buy and farm you'd have accumulated more xp than when u had finished harvesting
