Subtitles turn on everytime I launch the game

In the game I deactivate subtitles, I play and subtitles are deactivated, I close the game.

If later I launch the game, subtitles come back again, it´s not very terrible to turn off subtitles everytime I play but I would like to know if I am the only one and if there is any way for fixing

Do any other settings reset or is it just the subtitles?

The first thing we'd advise, if you haven't already, is verifying the game files. This will check for any missing or corrupt files and replace them. You can do this through the Steps in the Steam guide here

Game files is verified and all is correct.

I´ve checked this happens with subtitles and crouched icon.

I have passed the game with hud by default but now I wanted to play it again from the begginig but without any hud. So it was in this moment when I saw this happens.

In the game I deactivate all hud incluiding subtitles and crouched icon. I left the game.

If in other moment I launch the game, the subtitles and crouched icon are the only one come back.

Unfortunately if it was all the settings, then it would be easier to resolve as it might indicate an issue writing to the Config file.

If you haven't already, you could try checking the Config file to see if it's set correctly there. By default you can find this here:

• %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 4\GamerProfile.xml

Yes, GamerProfile.xml is where you say.

open the game load it

go to settings and look in settings / general

and there you can turn off subtitles .. click right under language settings .. eventually you'll see OFF as an option .. USE THAT OPTION

wait just tried it here .. yes they indeed do return .. you;ll have to shut em off every time you relaunch the game .. i never minded them .. or noticed i guess before

i found it ................... open the gamerprofile .xml file .. i used notepad to edit it here

change the setting for subtitles

so it reads

SubtitlesLanguage="0"

save the file and exit

I did it: change gamerprofile.xml , SubtitlesLanguage="0" I save.

I start the game and subtitles still there
