Game will suddenly not start?
Far Cry 4 was working great without issues just today, earlier on. Now it won't start at all.
Tried Verifying Files, tried to open it from Ubisoft Connect, nothing. Tried reinstalling it too, nothing. I noticed NVidia released a driver update, I did it. Anyone else having problems starting the game? Windows 11.

The game is literally BRICKED lmao, HOW? Amazing. I played like 40 hours for past couple days. Suddenly, cannot start it. Tried reinstalling everything including the Ubisoft Connect. I even tried StevesRegFix, did not do anything. I never touched the Map Editor either. ASTONISHING UBISOFT.

Tried that bro. On both Far Cry 4 executable and Ubisoft Connect. Nothing.

Same issue here, was working just fine yesterday. I did install the latest Nvidia driver today, did you do the same? I'm on the Steam Beta too.

Other than that I'm not sure anything's changed.

The game will not run. I'm on Windows 11 24H2. There was a recent NVIDIA update of course. There have also been Ubisoft Connect updates.

I was getting ready to reset Windows on my PC completely before I decided to check here just in case. I'm glad I did.
Same for me, the game doesn't start anymore. I tried to repair and reinstalled too, but nothing. I don't know how to fix that.

Same here. I haven't updated Nvidia drivers.

The worst part is I was genuinely having fun, I finally got around to playing Far Cry 4 and I must say it's a great game. It's always Ubisoft games having these issues with Windows updates and NVidia driver updates, always. I cannot count how many problems the various Assassin's Creed games have, still to this day.

NO WAY. This really worked! I sincerely cannot believe such a trivial thing was preventing the game from starting??? You the BEST!

Hey guys, sorry to hear that you are having trouble launching Far Cry 4.

This is currently being investigated but in the mean time it is great to see you have found a solution that helped in opting out of Steam Beta in interface settings

If we can ever help with anything else, just let us know

The solution is to choose "No Beta chosen" in the Steam client interface for beta participation, the restart the client. Credit goes to the same discussion in the Far Cry 3 discussion.
