In North Kyrat. Or you can see one or 2 in missions in the Himalayas.

Correct. But you can get one or 2 by doing the Willis missions which are in the South, and which take you to the Himalayas. Also one of Longinus missions which takes you to the Himalayas.

Yea North Kyrat, Himalayas or a few of the DLC missions have them. If you want them earlier in the storyline don't miss them in the Himalayas missions cause North Area won't unlock until around campaign mission 24 out of 32, I just now recently got it open, working on the Bell towers now.

They can be found all the way south as well, near that huge statue. Just throw some bait and they'll come.

Did you try a few times? It's completely random which animal shows up, so you'll see some tigers, wolves, bears and clouded leopards as well. I managed to get the ones I needed for upgrades by going there once. Just had to kill some other animals and get more bait from them.

also im not positive on this but when you first start the game you are in the northern part of the map (as your at pagans house) when you hit the point of climbing up to meet the golden path there are snow leopards there as well ..as i do recall i killed one there and had one snow leopard skin already in my loot bag before i got to meet Sabal or Amita at the first Golden Path location .. it was before the avalanche

may have been right after i climbed that rope ..

think i used the AK 47 i took off a soldier to kill it before i climbed the rope to go to that first tower

and i know its past that point in the game for you now .. but its something to look for next time you replay the game from the beginning

I can confirm it! just throwing them on the wide place and everything spawned from bears, wolves, tigers....to snow leopards! got 2 out of 8 tries so far

there are many pigs/tapirs running around so you will never run out of bait anyway.

Also a good tip: either bring an elephant then you can farm it so damn easily, or bring a loooot of ammo

This worked for me, i set up on the ledge with my bow and baited out 4 tigers, 3 snow leopards, a clouded leopard, 2 bears, 2 wolves and a dog.

I'll add that it's at the place with 2 statues next to each other.

It's in the tutorial section of the game - after you fight through a few 2-man or 3-man patrols you come to a small village with five guys or so and a snow leopard in a cage. This is the first time in the game that you get to destroy a cage as a weapon/distraction.
