I'd feel more at ease walking blindfolded through a minefield.
Awesome!

The animals in FC3 were done much better. They were a threat if you did not watch out, but they did not constantly harass you.
Same with eagles, but i am using mod where eagles attacks are lessened than in vanilla FC4.
But rest of animal AI? I f*cking LOVE IT!
No more standing on a "for AI unaccesible" rock like hero while hunting predators without any risk like in FC3. Predators now will try to flank you, large cats like tigers, leopards etc. will jump up to you. And if predator can't flank you he will just run away really fast after you few first shots.
But beware! Very often you can think "he can't flank me", but some predators can take really large detour to get to you and can show up at most undesirable moment ;).
My experience no.1:
I was going to "liberate" some tower. I heard tiger attacking some NPC's in wood near tower. Instead of attacking tiger i just ran into the tower and started to climb up. I heard tiger roar a few times and NPC's voices diminished. So i felt he maybe could go after me, but i felt pretty safe while climbing up and up. But, somehow, i felt like i can still hear him roar, but i didn't care. I was on one of higher "higher" floors of tower, when i got friendly tiger paw in my back :D. He just followed me up and up and up until he found me.
My experience no.2:
I tried to set a rhino on fire. But he just ran away to the nearest water source and extinguished fire on him in it!
My experience no.3:
I was about climb up some cliff, when i started heer a bear roar as bear probably heard me climbing. So i climbed down, decided to take detour around cliff and get up without climbing, by just walking. What a surprise when i walked about 100m away from bear, but he just followed my noises (or whatever) on cliff above me and attacked me then.
I love it as this adds so much immersion.
But that's exactly the point, the wildlife is NOT challenging in FC4, it's just annoying. I can count the number of times I died from wildlife on one hand.
Instead, the wildlife just ruins your brand new body armor or wastes a bit of your ammo. It also limits your weapon loadout as you always need a silenced weapon to get rid of it when on a mission. The constant harassment from wildlife is not challenging, it is just a very cheap way to keep you busy.
For me, this kills immersion and annoys me to a point where I wish someone would create a mod to lower the aggression level.
Well, but if someone doesn't want carry silenced weapon it easily means he is not into stealth and therefore such person wouldn't care? And if you are into stealth i suggest reflex bow as a primary weapon and some silenced weapon as a secondary (btw bow is most effective weapon for me, same as it was in FC3 - silent and strong by default, almost every enemy/animal has 1 arrow hit point and you can take your ammo back from dead bodies). Moreover i think nothing in game can beat feeling of succesful hit with arrow in some distance after some ballistic aiming ;).
Try to write to this guy, afaik he is open to all suggestions. He did great work so far (i am using his immersion&attach mod) and maybe he could do this too.

On the contrary. I often do a full assault, using explosives, fire, etc. However I do need time to plan and prepare the attack. Sometimes I first want to sneak in and plant some C4. However, as it is, you can not even scout an outpost without having to deal with wildlife. I always need at least one silenced weapon and that annoys me.
Well, if you go stealth anyway than it really doesn't matter. However, I prefer going stealth with a knife as long as possible and then switch to frontal assault if they happen to catch me. It bothers me, if the only reason why they discovered me was the overly aggressive wildlife I had to deal with.
EDIT:
Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.
I understand you, it makes sense. I have a bit different angle of view as i am stealth bastard and i try to run away and hide even if detected and attacked by enemy ;).
With that attachment mod you can get back things like good old SVD with silencer and ext. magazine, same with AK47. So when i said i am stealth bastard i mean it - my rig is reflex bow with standard sightings, AK47 with silencer and ext. magazine and SVD with silencer and ext. magazine. Megastealth megabastard ;).
Or even without that mod one can still buy tuned AK47 from signature weapons, which has included all attachments what are unavailable in normal weapons.
But i am primarily using takedowns by knife and bow. SVD for scouting areas (two zoom levels are better for me than camera zoom) and for situations when things gone really bad (but i try to stay stealth with no dead body found, at every cost). AK47 is for "gone bad" situations too. I found often using of those silenced weapons as boring really soon, it takes a lot of challenge, but it is on everyone to choose challenge or easy way :).
So you can have AK47 with silencer for those annoying animals only to do not ruin your gameplay too much, for example. But bow is still over the top as it is silent and has retractable ammo.
OTOH, the high density of dangerous animals can be a benefit at times, because tossing bait into an outpost swarming with bad guys works wonders and is a beautiful sight to behold.
