I had to run a cheat engine file to get rid of the black bars/ letterbox on what is basically farcry 3.5, Also because of a memory leak I have to restart after every death to keep the game running smoothly. I'm waiting on a refund from steam. Ubisoft is either the worst at porting or they have no idea wtf there doing. This is nothing compared to watch dogs or assassins unplayability but it is still up there w ubisofts BS.

I'm playing it on a laptop with a gtx660m and as of the latest patch (12/26/14) it runs flawlessly with all medium/high settings, SMAA, ambient occlusion, etc. Just in case anyone with similar specs is reading this, you'll probably do fine.

I have no idea what you mean about the letterbox thing; does yours not play fullscreen?

The only very real problem I encountered was not being able to play with a 360 pad; the game wouldn't load. Weirdly enough it natively supports the DS4 controller and will run wtih that. I'll need to check if I can use a 360 pad yet - if that's a requirement, definitely hold off.

If I was not clear enough I mean that there are black bars on the top and bottom of screen hence letterbox. I have to run a mod someone on the ubisoft forums made as a temp fix.

I understand that this could be an isolated issue, but If you look at the ubi forums it's more then a common occurance.

I'm glad your far cry 4 is running flawlessly but it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ port from a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ company w an even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reputation.

I've been running the game for 7 hours non-stop on ultra with no issues. And that's with switching out and back in to the game from time to time. Good luck with getting your issues sorted out.

Yeah I know what you mean, I have just never seen such a thing. Sorry, dude, seems like a really rare problem. Remember to update everything!

Just saying; if someone has a similar setup to mine and sees this thread, I want them to know that they don't have to stay away from a really fun game, since it'll work fine.

It is a really fun game, tops farcry3 in every way. I should not have to jump through hoops to play it though. Also go to ubisoft forums if you think I'M bs'in Alot of ppl are having the same problems.

with a decent GPU can set a resolution to remove the black bars if they have a decent GPU ..but they lack the knowlage ..and should stick to a PS4
