Longinus pt4 blackscreen

Just experienced my first quest bug. After completing Longinus's forth mission and was about to receive the new missle launcher, after the cutscene I just got a black screen. I could still hear myself walking and jumping, but the screen was totally black. I couldnt even press escape to save the game.... had to ALT-F4 out. then after starting the game again it starts up the same mission again... It didnt save... GRRRR.....

I have encountered the same 'black screen' bug on a different quest. I can hear myself walking etc... No way out other than Task Manager, killing the game. GRRRR..... Anyone have a clue for a fix?

just a quick question are you useing an nvidia GPU ?

if so can ya post your driver version ?

Same issue. Same mission, Longinus w/ New Missle Launcher.. Nvidia GPU with Driver version 347.88
No new updates either.

I replayed the mission and this time Loginus actually loaded guns and boxes into a CAR.. not thin air.. And it loaded up perfectly normally.

I've had the same thing happen to me on different missions. No idea what causes it but exit and reload fixes it.

The ONLY way I have "fixed" this Black Screen issue (and there's lots of them, especially in the Shangra La missions) is to turn graphics to LOW, then I can make it through to the end. I read that fix in another forum and it does work but also sucks since, unless you decide to play using LOW grpahics the whole time, you have to 1st see if a mission is bugged by having it crash to Black Screen, then restart that mission using LOW graphics. At least you can finish the bugged missions. I have an Nvidia GTX 690. It bugs both using SLI and single GPU mode. Ubisoft makes some great games but their PC support for graphics is the WORST, flat out pathetic at fixing game breaking issues related to PC graphics. Same situation is seen in Assassins Creed Unity, the ONLY way I can play that game at playable/stable frame rates without crazy hangs and studdering is to disable SLI. FC4 also had a nasty flickering bug re-surface (read "re-") with the release of Yeti DLC, where they broke the entire FC4 for game for SLI users. It makes me think Ubisoft lost key PC programming personnel and just cannot fix this stuff.
