so, jamming weapon system?
i really dissappoint that there will be no jamming weapon system in fc3 and fc4. i really love that system back in FC2 (notice i use uppercase? good...). it make the games feel more 'survivalist' more than yet another COD-Clone action one-man-army. yup some people find it annoying. but i think they're just playing casual FPS too much.

remove mararia is really good tho, i find it annoying. but adding some disease might be great in the sequal.

what do you guys think? reason please, no hate like 'OH HERR DERR JAMMING SUCK YOU WANT REALISM GO PLAY ARMA' just, no.

No, I'm playing a game. I want my guns to work. If I wanted real life I'd go outside. :b

I actually prefer it. I've hated fc 3&4 because you play as som young foreign tourist who just happens to know how to be Rambo and use every gun, and piece of equipment.

At least in 2 you were a mercenary so it was more believable and plausible, and the fact that you were trying to survive. Not just thrown into the country voluntarily and magically become rambo.

Far cry 2 was trash. basically when your guns weren't jamming you were coughing your lungs out from malaria and if you weren't doing that then your guns were jamming. That game always had something stupid interupting whatever you were doing. Weapon jamming by far was the worst idea in a long history of bad ideas for weapons. The way they did it was terrible too. The weapon integrity degraded far too fast and then jammed an absurdly unrealistic amount of times. If that's the kind of stuff you enjoy you'd be better off finding a game where the objective of the game is to find out why you are even playing the game.

sorry, but no. stop critiquing the realism in video games, it's usually misguided.

No it's not misguided and it's hardly a critique based solely on making it more *realistic*. I don't play games for their realistic aspect, I play games to have fun. Your gun jamming every 30 seconds is not fun. When you implement weapons and mechanics such as that, you still want them to be rational. Not so realistic, just within a reasonable and understandable logic. The way they did it, it is none of that.

On a side note. When people use the term "unrealistic" or make a comparison to realism, pay attention to the context. There is nothing indicating that I am desiring an immersive and realistic experience. I'm merely using real world examples to create a comparison. I'm not saying I want the game to be like the real world. I did in fact state that the mechanic (along with that malaria pill popping) makes the game tedious and annoying. Notice that there is never a direct statement about my desire for realism. Hopefully you can take this short lesson with you to other parts of discussion boards and maybe not make the same judgemental mistakes you have here. You're welcome.

well, ARMA is pretty serious business if you ask me.

if it done right i think it would increase more immerse to the game. like in real-life M4A1 can't shoot on water or snow because it would jammed and easy to get broke but AK74 can handle any situlation and rarely jammed.

it's my opinion anyway, beside, in real life you can't be rambo :p

This, totally. What kind of K-Mart assault rifle starts wearing out after 50 shots? lol

Wait, so basically you're butthurt, right? I mean, you didn't directly type that, but that's the overall picture I'm getting from the words above. Don't want to make assumptions, and a simple yes/no will suffice.

Complainers about FC2 weapon jamming must have been constantly using random guns they picked up off enemies. Those guns are supposed to jam quickly, since they have been in circulation for decades in the game's story (the Jackal just re-distributes old military weapons, not quality ones). The point was to invest diamonds in buying new versions that lasted pleanty long enough (certainly long enough before you could happen upon an armory to restock).
