1. The story is awful. The characters are unrelatable and boring. They should have done away with the "white savior" storyline and gone with a native Kyrati. Amita, Sabal, heck, even Bhadra. Anyone but a total stranger who just waltzes in and starts killing for no apparent reason.
2. The balance of resources is off. Mortars, grenade launchers and high-powered machine guns can rip through enemies with astounding ease and they are availlable very early. Money is simple to get.
3. The battles feel the same. They should have been more liberal with adding the Hunters to outposts - those guys can make things difficult. But you rarely see them. Also, dogs. Dogs definitely make sneaking around much harder. They also could have added a harder difficulty level. Even at the hardest, the bad guys aren't very hard to kill.
I don't want to totally take away from FC4. It's a disappointing release, but it's not "bad". It's just more of the same. Which is what we all should have expected, considering that this was a rushed cycle (just 24 months since FC3). Maybe Ubi will take their time with the next release and make it a bit edgier.
Ajay is a native Kyrati. FC4 has indeed a lot of problems but this is not one of them.
I know its not popular opinion but i think farcry2 was the best game of the series, yes fc3 fixed and improved upon FC2, but it did lack some neat immersion effects they took out of FC3. The ingame map was a very cool feature and the gun degrading was a neat idea just needed to be tweaked upon more I also liked that Africa setting more.
is they said it's comming with a drop-in-drop-out co-op campaign system.
Me and my friends were totally excited.
And dissapointed when we found out the questline is not possible in co-op play..
Well for starters they could have used a new enemy. The enemy in Far Cry 4 sounds just like the enemy in Far Cry 3, same stupid " I wish someone would just shoot me"
The crafting system is even worse than Far Cry 3, wish they would have looked at what the modders did to the Far Cry 3 crafting system. ie two different types of leaves with different skins to make one item. Makes it a lot harder.
Same difficulty leves as Far Cry 3, though they did issue a patch and made another level of difficutly in Far Cry 3 but that came out later.
Amita sure complains alot about being the first woman in the Golden Path too bad she doesn't mention all the other women you see in the game who actually fight the enemy.
The non stop shooting by the Golden Path after winning a fight is plain stupid and annoying.
You have a better chance in the game to be killed by a pack of wolves than anything else.
Getting the .700 after you no longer need it is kind of pointless. Once you have gotten your rhinos whats the point of having it.
The controls are a complete mess, switch from fire arrows to explosive was easy in Far Cry 3. Using different syringes was pretty simple as well.
Running seems to be more like a fast jog than an actual run.
Far Cry 3 ran nicely on my old system with out crashing. Kind of the oppisite of 4.
Oh and I've played Far Cry 1,2,3, Blood Dragon, crap version for the Wii and now 4 (aka overpriced FarCry 3 expansion pack)
Damn good writing there! Couldn't have said it better myself!
It's dull and uninspired, same old same old but for some it never gets old somehow. So for you out there who are able to enjoy this masterpiece of marketing and occupational therapy. Good for you. Ubisoftt's best people clearly sit in these departments. Game design, mechanics, story? Not really their strong points.
Ubi is about getting product to market in order to make money, not about making an actual good game. Heck, look at their Assassin's Creed series; churning out 1 a year. Yuck. Ubi needs to make games like Child of Light; 2D side-scrollers and the like. They really need to get out of the PC market; tired of getting hand-me-down. Their QA team should all get punched in the face for releasing a title like this to market, lol.
I could have sworn I've read this same post many times since Far Cry 4 was released.
Well maybe not this same post, but it's basically been recycled over and over again, probably even moreso than anything from FC 3 that was re-used in FC 4, and I definitely enjoyed the first post on the subject more than all the re-skinned facsimiles.
