@ OP. The stutter fix would be the improved texture streaming. For I'm adamant that the texture streaming is the reason for the stutter.

I've noticed that while this is the main issue, my game stutters the instant before whooshing indictators sound, npc's blather on randomly, animals vocalise and anything else that makes a new noise. This is why it's such a confusing issue to fix.

SLI fixing isn't just up to Ubisoft - it's up to Nvidia just as much.

But seeing as Nvidia paid Ubi about 5mil IIRC, so they now pretty much havee to use Nvidia tech in all their games now (like PhysuX and Nvidia Gameworks which has an evil contract that keeps them from working with other companies to optimize the game, like AMD for example, hence users getting shafted on WatchDogs for months after release) they should have this crap locked down on release.

You'd think so, but that's never been how PC gaming works. There is never an issue free launch. Some have more issues than others, but issue free launches are a literal impossibility on PC. Besides...SLI is just asking for trouble anyway.

What the hell do you mean SLI is asking for trouble? Ive run both SLI and Xfire (currently) and they both work fine.
Have you ever even used either?
Im even forcing Xfire on the game right now and haven't had an issue. I dont understand all these people that have issues using a 2 card setup, I swear some idiots just jump on the bandwagon and say its **s h i t** just because everyone else does....
Wonder if they will fix the problem with sli too. with sli activated i get pinch black areas where the shadows is, and at night time? Lol, can't see squat.

Lets just hope the patch at least does what it aims to do...:) It amazes me that games get released like this, just think of the negative press/response ubi could have avoided if they just held back the release for another month or so and effectivly patched it to 1.5/1.6 before releasing it...so that version 1.0 would actually be a solid release...

I wonder if they'll fix NvidiaPCSS(The soft shadows.) with this patch, so I can get shadows with it enabled in snowy areas in the game.

But then then they would have not had all us beta testers to find these issues for them since they're so incapable of testing the game themselves on various gaming rigs...

It's very very confusing. The sheer amount of bad press and complaints would surely be stamped out if only they had actual real world beta testers. Perhaps it's simply, so long as the game journos are talking about our broken games, everythings fine.

I've had more SLI/CFX setups than you've had, that I can guarantee you. SLI 680s, SLI 670s, SLI 780Ti's, SLI 580's, GTX 590, GTX 690, CFX 6970s, CFX 7970s, CFX 5870s, CFX 4870s etc. So don't even go there. It's a known fact that SLI is never a guaranteed factor in games. My experience with SLI and Crossfire X far outweighs yours.

SLI and CFX have a slew of issues, and aren't worth the price per performance, and it took me...god knows how many years to figure that out. Instead of wasting my money on SLI, something that support is never guaranteed for, something that often times you require to jump through hoops just to get it working (unless you like microstutter, which you clearly must), I just spend that money on one very powerful card, and get perfectly adequate performance.

When you bought SLI, you knew the risks.

Sounds like it took a while for you to learn :)

I've had one system with crossfired 5870's and this current 780ti SLI. I had NOTHING but problems with cfx and it was a relief to turf them and go single gtx580 and just GAME again, instead of arseing around with cfgs and tweaking.

I researched for quite a while before deciding on an sli system and i came to the conclusion through various sites that the micro stutter was essentially a non issue now. For the most part that was true, but along come companies like this that simply don't support it or even give a toss about it on any new release. I'm either turning it off or trying out profiles for the elusive 'better than single' scalability. Really the only games i've ever found a significant trouble free increase in fps with SLI is Bordlerlands 2 and anything with frostbite.

Currently thinking about going single gtx980. If you have 2 cards there's this underlying need to actually use them and you go nuts tweaking to make sure you haven't wasted your money. You have. The money is wasted when you're tweaking instead of gaming. Hey but if that's your bag, it's certainly big enough.
Sparhawk122 6 DIC 2014 a las 11:03 p. m.
Consoles use the single GPU set-up that's why they don't give a flying toss about SLI :)

Well it's nice to hear that there will be another patch but i still can't even make it throught the prologue due to getting a black screen bug when i die or reach the end and can't even get the game to save......i would like to hear that this issue is being patched. Still don't know if i'm the only one having this issue can't seem to get a reply from anyone about it.

Your not the only onw. Games saves are ♥♥♥♥. Game crashes at start up 80% of the time. But by all means Ubisoft please fix aim assist first, I'm sure thats more important.
