Error with : materialdescript ors\filelist.xml.txt

Anybody can help ? Cant play my game it always end on start with message "k:\steam\steamapps\common\far cry4\bindata_win32\engine\shaders\materialdescript ors\filelist.xml.txt" . Cant find any fix.

Hi, I have the same problem (with Uplay). The new patch 1.4 doesn't fix this. I've send an email to their support and they asked me to send a msinfo32 and a DXdiag report of my PC to them. Now I'm waiting for their respons. I'm sure that my PC meets the requirements and I've verified the gamefiles, so I think it's some kind of compatibility issue.

that was first thing i did - writted on uplay support. but its already 4 days with no answer.

Do you have a DirectX 11 compliant video card? Because it sounds like an issue with DirectX shaders.
What OS are you running?

gtx 680 4gb card so ye fully dx11 compatible. Actually im on win 8.1.

Have you tried deleting that file and starting the game to see if it rebuilds it, and/or verifying the game files?
Don't know if you know, but you can do that through Uplay just like through Steam.

EDIT:
Just out of curiosity, you don't have the Steam mouse icon by your username, which would indicate ownership of the game through Steam, and it's not in your list of games so why is it installed in a Steam directory?

yea tried to redownload, tried to install on different harddrive, tried to verify all files on uplay.. nothing from this helps.

Hi,

I'm still waiting for a repley of the support.
My system is a i5 3470, 6GB RAM, XFX 7850 2GB and I'm running Win7 64bit with all the newest drivers. As a test, I deleted the game completely, downloaded it from the Uplay server, reinstalled it and verified the files: no improvement. As a second test, I removed the game again, disconnected my internetconnection, deactivated my antivirus and reinstalled the game. Reconnect internet fot the updates: no improvement. As a final test I installed the game on a different PC, but even there, the game didn't lauch. there I had the black screen on startup problem.

Hi, Uplay solved the problem for me.
First I needed to deactivate the programs that launch automaticaly during startup:
1) RUN (Win + R), type MSCONFIG, go to startup, click on disable all and reboot.
2) RUN, type %TEMP% and delete all the files, reboot

After doing that, I was able to launch the game without any errors. Good luck!

acually they did ......... a long time ago......... its called verify your game files

and if you look a few posts up you'll see Ubisoft did solve the problem for another user


delete your Temp files and disable any backround applications that can cause a problem

Sorry, I did it twice, but verifying the game files didn't help me at all.
Just moving the files manually into "bin" folder helped in my case.

dude you have corrupt install some where along the line ... as that file is not even in my FarCry 4 \data 32 folder .. do you own a legit version of the game ?... if so contact Ubisoft support

as that file does not exist on my drive outside of a packed file

also when you do a file verify Launch Uplay as Run as Administrator for best results

just checked on all 3 of my computers ....

I have a retail version of Far Cry 4, maybe that's the difference. Nevermind, game is running now, so won't touch it until it runs :)

did you install all of the updates to your game ? , current version is version 1.10.0
last patch came out in April 2015

Far Cry 4 PC version 1.10.0 patch notes:

Uplay should auto update you to the latest version , make sure you have the updated version of Uplay installed
