Weird shadow problems when moving
Is anyone else getting this weird shadow bug where the shadows very rapidly change or disappear as you move your FPS camera (look around)? And the shadows are appearing indoors as well (you are inside a cabin but somewhow the shadows of trees are casting themselves inside the cabin walls). I may just get a seizure if this keeps up and it makes the game almost unplayable with how distracting it is.

Anyone have a solution? I played around with the shadow quality, didn't impact the problem.

I totally regret getting the gamestop version of this, should have kept loyal with the steam version. I heard the gamestop version has some PostFxquality bug that I also have to deal with.

^anyone has a solution to that too, that doesn't involve setting the postfxquality setting to "false" to trick the game?

Fixed the shadow bug. I looked around and noted it is a SLI bug primarily however single cards can suffer it too (I use a GTX 680 single). Just reset graphics to default, run the game, quit, re-enable your graphics settings and voila, fixed.

Still don't know how to fix the postfxquality cararact vision bug when using the mortar other then setting postfxquality to "false" in your gamer user file for far cry 4 under "my games" in the documents section.

Woo, this fixes it in a jiffy. Thanks!

When you say "reset the graphics to default" are you referring to the in-game graphics settings or NVIDIA-CP/CCC settings?

In game graphics, Then, simply quit and reload the game then alternate your serttings back to your original values.

Make sure to run the game first on the crappy defaults first before exiting.

What shadows are you using? Can you confirm this works for soft shadows? Because soft shadows aren't working for me.

Resetting graphics to default, running the game, quitting, then re-enabling my previous settings didn't work, but disabling Soft Shadows did. Unfortunately the lighting isn't as dynamic but it's worth getting rid of the damn tree shadows in cabins and caves.

Well, that's exactly the problem... I want Soft Shadows. Makes the game look a lot better.
It was working before, why they screwed it up with the new patches is beyond me.

Yes, same problem. I reset then put on ultra and it fixed. However, whenever I use the "Nvidia experience" settings, the problem comes back.

Before the patch I was running the game from the start with soft shadows (as part of nvidia preset), and just forgot about video settings (only played with godrays some). It was fine on 780 ti OC with TXAAx2.
Now soft shadows just look weird, not only the issue of the bug in discussion, but the whole thing... It's not at all like it was before, so I switched shadows to "ULTRA" - right now it looks much more natural...

just turn shdaow option to ultra ,the nvidia soft shadows are buggy as hell same in ac unity .

SoftShadows is funky for me. So, I switched to Ultra and it fixed the problem. All of these technical problems are unacceptable for such a high profile game!

Yes, they are buggy. The problem is that the weren't buggy before and looked great.
It's the fact that they screwed something that was working fine.

OK, I found out that soft shadows still work in southern map, but broken in nothern part... May be it's not related to the latest patch at all, since I unlocked the North only very short after 1.5.0 update, so it could be a coincidance.
Did anyone see working soft shadows in the North before the patch???

I think you're on to something here... I spent 60 hours grinding away in the south without issues. As soon as I did the Key To The North mission, I saw the wacky shadows in the first cave I went into.

Fortunately, I remembered looking at the video someone posted. I went out, set the shadows to to the level below Ultra and everything is back to normal.
