Best way to hunt Rhinos?

I keep using about 30 arrows to down one, or I use xplosives and get 90% damaged skins.

Shotgun to the head if you have access to one yet. Elephant Gun in Signature weapons works very well. Or dance around a tree with a machine gun as they have issues turning :P

Either of the signature shotguns work well, just pump shots into the head at close range. Keep moving sideways to avoid the charge.

the .700 nitro shotgun will do the trick. it is made specifically for hunting the thick skinned animals. for me, it took 2 shots to kill a rhino with it. unfortunately you don't get the double skin bonus but it doesn't take long before more rhinos show up to avenge the 1st one you killed :-)

I run around and object and shoot them with arrows. Usually I find a rock or a tree and keep running around it so he can't hit me.

I got the Elephant Gun like an hour into the game. If you shoot a rhino in the head with it you can kill with one shot. But that's unreliable I've found.

Usually with the elephant gun, which only has two rounds, I'll shoot the rhino once from a comfortable distance, then while it's turning towards me I reload and pump two shots into it which kills it. If you fire twice then reload for the third shot the rhino has a good chance of reaching you!

cars with mounted turrets...and not the little ones with mgs...no, i usually take the cars with the mounted flak gun on it...no damage to the pelts, so it works with crafting;)

Do you have to have the season pass (or the more expansive version of the game) to get the Elephant Gun as is not part of my signature weapons? Only got the Bull shotgun and the sidearm shotgun 87.

AMR is pretty good. Or the Z97 if you can't unlock the signature.

Harpoon gun is a OHK if you headshot them, THK if you hit with bodyshots. You get it in late game though, if you have hurks DLC.

Shotgun in general for all animals. With rhino just get into a turning fight. Lots of people play ring-around-the-rosie using a tree, but it's not necessary.
