Sound coming through speakers and not headphones
Okay guys. I recently bought far cry 4 and I love the game. But it has to go through uplay and the problem is with them is that when i have to play a game through them the sound comes out of my speakers and not my heaphones. I've tried changing headphones and that didnt work. My laptop wont let my set my headphones to default. It only allows them to be on communication default. I tried to update my sound card and it didnt change anything. I've tried contacting ubisoft support and i swear its like talking to a brick f****** wall. They wont help and I have lost patience with them. This only happens when i have to play a game through them! So can anyone help?

I don't think that is a game related issue.
try to find a solution on the internet for forcing audio to your headphones or shut down your laptops speakers in device manager.
I'm using a wireless usb headset, when I plug in the usb it forces everything to go to the headphones, ask a friend if he has a usb headphonemaybe and try that.

Rt-click the volume icon in your tray area and select Playback devices. Highlight your headphones in the list and click Set Default.

Oops sorry. You'd probably wanna contact your laptop manufacturer to troubleshoot that issue. It isn't an Ubisoft issue if your sound won't play through headphones, even if only for games.

What about the sound options inside of Far Cry 4? Did you try to setup your headphones over there?

Well im not sure if this will work for you but what i did was restart my computer and then i changed the headphones from the headphones i was using to the simple ipod headphones. I'm not sure if that will work for you but you can try it out.

"I don't think that is a game related issue."
it is a game related issue. this is the only game that has done this for me.
headphones worked for 5 minutes then defaulted to speakers.
other people have this issue as well.

I'm having the same problem using a ROG Zephyrus and the intro of the game it's playing in headphones, but when I'm in the game, it switches back to laptop's speakers...

right click on your lil speaker icon in your windows tool bar

make sure you set your headphones up in windows sound settings under play back devices

the game may work best if you put the head phones in stereo mode .. not 7.1 as the game only supports up to 5.1 sound

also check the bit rate in your speaker settings

as well as check all the settings for any added software your had phones require .. some head sets, yes may need to select a game or application and enable it ..other wise it is on the MUTE list
