Auto-Crossbow vs. Recurve Bow for stealth?

So I just unlocked the Auto-Cross sidearm after waiting for it for so long. I was using the recurve bow before. I was looking at the stats for each, and the Recurve Bow seems superior. I cannot decide which one I want to use for stealth gameplay.

Is anyone else experiencing this dilemma? If so, which one did you choose and why? Is the auto-crossbow capable of 1 shot kills like the bow is? I have a sniper rifle for long range stealth kills so I figured the reduced range of the auto-cross is fine.

So, which do you prefer and why? Or do you have the auto-cross as your sidearm and also the recurve bow in your setup? I am currently using a silent pistol as a sidearm, the auto-cross as my primary, assult rifle as third, and sniper as fourth.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I usually equip silenced assault rifle with scope, grenade launcher, shotgun, and bow. Seems to be a good loadout for all situations, including stealth, though it's weak for sniping beyond medium range. There's an AK with silencer and scope in the signature weapons that mitigates that a bit.

Silenced AR, nade side arm, silenced sniper rifle, and bow (with explosive and fire arrows ofcourse). I have never cared for shotguns aside from the flak cannon, and smgs are just girly versions of real machine guns.. which makes pistols extra girly versions of actual rifles.

If i wanted to take 3 at a time out i would just use a nade launcher... or explosive arrows. Just sayin', you already suck at stealth if you have 3 guys aggroed and the point of the thread was stealth.

I was stealthing you can easily take out 3 people with auto crossbow before they even get alerted. All I do is stealth every single mission if possible. The alertness meter when they spot you doesn't fill up fast enough with auto crossbow so I can kill them all before they even are aware that I am there.

I like the recurve...seems more flexible to me. Im usually stocking the bow or silenced sniper rifle, the noob tube (grenade sidearm, love this thing while driving/flying), a shotgun, and an AR. Pretty much my goto setup.

i run with the blowy upy pistol thing xD, the warrior, an lmg in case things go south and the big shotty that makes people go flying and kills rhinos 3 shots usally, but im goin all steath on my secont play

Most likely going to add the launcher sidearm to my setup, i've only used it a few times on that demon fish hunting mission but it was pretty great

M72 Launcher is a great sidearm; as it helps u quite a bit when faces with alot of enemy vehicles; or dishing out death from above when using the Chopter.

If you like any of the Bows, stick to the Recurve Bow as one of your main weapons, as it is far superior to the small sidearm Crossbow. If you do need to switch out the M72 gren-launcher for something else, don't forget about the available Fire and Explosive Arrows available to you when u do have a Short or Recruve Bow equipped.

Regardless of what weapons u end up liking for what reasons, always have one of them be a Rifle of sorts where u can get ammo of any AK rifle that u happen to walk over. As this allows easy way to ensure you get some ammo back from the dead after a fire fight.

Course I do like how the Courier (whatever u'd call him) walks around the map trails, allowing u to easily sell off your junk and buy more ammo and such; or switch up your weapons. Without having to head to a safe-house.

And yeah, the crossbow is just a lame version of the recurve bow for anything stealth related. But we all know that the only real way to really play this game is with nothing but knife kills.

My current run is purely Hunting Bow (not Recurve), Throwing Knives, Molotovs, and Fire (not explosive) Arrows....nothing else. The knives are great for dealing with close range threats quickly, since I don't use the crossbow (too modern), and they are somewhat more satsfying to drop enemies with from cover.

Does autocross follow same rules as pistols? I saw a video on youtube where a pistol would not register a hit over 60m. If the autocross follows this rule then Recurve for sure.

I do wish there was a signature bow. Bows are more fun, but if they are armored or a heavy, make sure you get a headshot or it will take multiple. If you arent confident in a headshot then try to get closer and use the Autocross because the arrow drop is less and easier to compensate for.

Yet most of us still prefer the recurve.. sorry its just an assmasters creed related gimmick to me.

arent autocrosses secondarys so you can use both
