Auto-Crossbow vs. Recurve Bow for stealth?

So I just unlocked the Auto-Cross sidearm after waiting for it for so long. I was using the recurve bow before. I was looking at the stats for each, and the Recurve Bow seems superior. I cannot decide which one I want to use for stealth gameplay.

Is anyone else experiencing this dilemma? If so, which one did you choose and why? Is the auto-crossbow capable of 1 shot kills like the bow is? I have a sniper rifle for long range stealth kills so I figured the reduced range of the auto-cross is fine.

So, which do you prefer and why? Or do you have the auto-cross as your sidearm and also the recurve bow in your setup? I am currently using a silent pistol as a sidearm, the auto-cross as my primary, assult rifle as third, and sniper as fourth.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I like taking it slow, quiet, and planning how im gonna handle the situation if it all goes south. Assault rifle incase im spotted. Silenced sidearm for quick up close kills. Recurve bow for medium to close range kills. And a silenced automatic gun of some sort incase i need to take a group of people out quick and quietly.

I usually like to carry an ak 47, silenced pistol or autocrossbow, recruve bow, and a silenced smg.

Thanks for the input! I need to test out the autocrossbow a bit more before I decide. Do you prefer having the silenced pistol or the autocrossbow as your sidearm? I have the semi-auto silenced pistol as a sidearm because when in a car or helicopter I don't have to worry about ammo, where as the autocross only has 20 bolts with the extended mag.

Tbh, i havent used the autocross bow yet. I've only played 2 hours of the game, but i played a ♥♥♥♥ ton of Far Cry 3 so ya know

Recurve bow for sniping, crossbow for rapidly killing targets that will compromise you (i.e. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ animals or something)

I prefer recurve bow, it is more satisfying to me. however, If there are a bunch of people grouped up I can take out 3 or so with the auto crossbow before they even can react. But idk something about the bow just feels awesome.

I agree especially when you quickly drop someone whos just about to detect you!

If i wanted to take 3 at a time out i would just use a nade launcher... or explosive arrows. Just sayin', you already suck at stealth if you have 3 guys aggroed and the point of the thread was stealth.

I have the bow mostly for hunting and sniping....else it's just the standard weapons...SMG sidearm, LGM for fun and the elephant gun just to see people fly

Auto Crossbow(stealth approach) , Slienced sniper rifle(the one-shot-reload one), Golden AK( because it is awesome), Sidearm Grenade Launcher ( so I can blow ♥♥♥♥ up while driving, and also helicopter)

Only on accident, i use fire arrows instead of molotov too.

i love the recurve bow. together with a pistol with a silencer and the big sniper rifle with a silencer addon.

I usually equip silenced assault rifle with scope, grenade launcher, shotgun, and bow. Seems to be a good loadout for all situations, including stealth, though it's weak for sniping beyond medium range. There's an AK with silencer and scope in the signature weapons that mitigates that a bit.
