The manual save only seems to work some of the time. I'm sure it is one of the many issues they will work out at a later date.

Yeah thats lame, was it like that in FC3? I forget....I been playing Borderlands 2 lately and that saves everything it seems, they need to make it like that.

Same issue. Getting tired of crafyting things only to find they didn't save when I do a Save and Quit. There is no Save only option for me either.

Like I've said, this game doesn't support instantaneous saving right now. You will have to complete what the game considers as a checkpoint, then your progress will be saved.

Not denying that the save system might be buggy in some way, but mine is working fine.

What is the point of free roaming and hunting and gathering if you have to then do a mission just to save your progress? Perhaps I am missing something but that just doesn't seem right. Didn't it used to be that you could save from any safe house?

Thats how Farcry 2 does it, 3 I sorta forgot....maybe? I slightly remeber it saving once I did anything in 3...kinda like in borderlands.

like FC3 and Blood Dragon before, my progress wouldn't properly save until i'd reached the first 'safe room' in the village (whatever you call that room with the red door and a round gold/black symbol on it) - after that it saved properly as you'd expect

The game is hardly as open as everyone is pretending anyway. Just because you have the option of performing virtually identical menial tasks in lieu of the campaign missions doesn't mean the emphasis is freeroam. That's like saying Commander Keen 4-6 are a sandbox because you can play pong on your wristwatch whenever you feel like. Whoopee... I can rip a poster down, drive in unchallenging terrain, or shoot people in the head to solve all my problems over and over. It gets old after the second or third time, why do it for 60 hours?

But yes, there should be quicksaves so we don't all waste our time.

I am also stuck, game crashes when i try to save or i get the meassage "cant save while auto save is in progress" i have tried to get pretty far liberating towers and doing missions but still back to the same save. It also crashes when i die.
The "save" function is only avalible in online mode, offline its "save and quit to desktop". I have tried reinstalling everything, and restating the game but the problem is still there and when i die i return to the same old save point.
