Since we've been seeing a lot of questions regarding whether or not certain configurations will run Far Cry 4, I've gone ahead and posted them here.

says here that FC4 is unplayable on it , look at the benchmark @ the bottom of the page even on low settings it says

I was going to come home and tell you idiots not to do research on that because the graphics card was wrong. Oh well. It's fun seeing someone wasted their precious time researching it when they could have been playing the game they spent $40+ on. And lots of graphics cards aren't mentioned in the system requirements.

Edit, again: I do not understand why you researched the card on a notebook (laptop) website before asking what type of computer I have. It is a desktop intended for work, not a laptop.

It takes 1 minute to type in google to "research" as you call it. Not a big deal. And yea, all cards that will play it is in the specs, under the "or better" section.

Again, the GPU I typed was the wrong one, and I was (apparently) mis-remembering my specs and read off the GPU as my old laptop's.
I know 2500 is incredibly worse than 4000 but getting a new computer for work (at the time) was better than toting around a heavy laptop infected with multiple types of malware. However, on the plus side, upon upgrading to Windows 10 and updating all of my drivers (and BIOS), my 2012 Inspiron (yes, desktop) can play Saints Row at medium gfx settings with 18+ frames (specifically, 23FPS average.)

I do! Anyways, I have a 2012 model Inspiron ONE. At the time I only used it for playing Minecraft and using MS Word. Now, many games. All/most of the games I play can be seen on my profile.

I think that the GTX 850M isn't powerful enough for FC4.
I got the same specs than you, i7 4700MQ/8Go/765M, and it's acceptable on Mid/High

yeah... except for the fact that a maxwell based version of the gtx 850m is faster than a 765m...

Hey guys, I dont know if this conversation is still going, but I'm playing on a GTX 850M Maxwell based model with 4 gigabytes of frambuffer and a Core i5 and it runs kinda ok in the mid 40 fps range. But I've also seen it run on my brothers desktop pc with a solid overclocked 3770k and a GTX 680 and it performes kinda the same as my rig... like maybe 5 to somtimes 10 fps more on the same full-hd settings. Is the game just badly optimized?

Your mileage may vary.

If you have the GDDR3 variant of the GTX 850M, your performance will suffer, and do so considerably.
For the GDDR5 version, it's about 55-70% the performance of the GTX 860M (Maxwell) SKU.
Playable on 1080p @ Medium.
Disable all NVIDIA Gameworks effects with this GPU.

bought it last night , I love Farcry series , gotta work but played through intro , graphics are stellar. sound excellent , can't wait to play through campaign. I noticed many improvements right off the bat. I hope there are more of this series in the future. Can't get enough of them.

Farcry 3 story was awesome , but I have played more of Farcry 4 since my last post and I deleted it because I discovered the gyrocopter which is the shiznit. I think I am going to like this game the more I get into it. Got 3 weapons now so it's getting better. that gyrocopter is a brilliant idea. Yeah I had to delete it got to put some more time into it and I was too hasty in my negative opinion. Farcry 4 is indeed cool.
