Crashing on main menu

After the game starts and cycles through the intial unskippable ads, the game crashes after you are prompted with the "press any key" screen.

My specs are as follows:

CPU i5 3570k @ 4.2Ghz
RAM 8Gb DDR3
GPU Geforce 780 GTX (using the latest WHQL driver)
OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1

So far my game is totally unplayable and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having a similair problem. I was attempting to change resolution so I could see chat while streaming because i'm a new streamer who doesn't have the money to get a good streaming tool that allows you to see chat so I have to use xsplit. I changed the resolution, and all of a sudden it crashed. Afterwards, I couldn't get past the "Press any key" screen.

If you press SHIFT+TAB does the main menu come up? I'm getting this too and if I SHIFT+TAB the menu comes up. Still can't play the game though

Whenever I press SHIFT-TAB the steam overlay comes up and at the same time my game crashes. However, I did find a fix on a different thing. Go to your documents/user/mygames or whatever the hell the directory is. I'm sure you know what i'm talking about, and remove the file inside the Far Cry 4 folder.

I was able to play the game after I deleted the farcry 4 folder in "my documents/my games".

So far the game is running without error. I havent dared to adjust the options yet.

Update :

The game crashed the moment I went to change graphic settings. I didnt even make any adjustments. It just simply crashed when I selected "quality serttings"

More updates!

Problem solved! The game seems to really hate running with my EVGA Precision X software. Closing that made a big difference. No crashing when adjusting settings or on load.

Check if you have any GPU monitoring software running and close them out.

Same problem here. Game crashes if i attempt to change the resolution. Runs fine with fullscreen. Never had this issue before. Gonna just keep it on full for now. :p
