Blown out shadows/messed up brightness

If you guys are having issues with the contrast/brightness not looking right, it might be the god rays. I spent like 15 minutes fiddling with the ingame color controls, but couldn't get it looking right. I messed around with the settings and it turns out the Godrays are borked, at least with my Nvidia GTX770 with todays released drivers (344.75). It looks worse ingame then the screens show. So don't go crazy trying to fix it with the brightness/contrast/gamma controls it won't work.

Thanks for this. It's helpfull. I'm finding that nighttime is completely pitch black in many places. I'm wondering if this is intended. The flashlight only seems to come on in caves but I dont know how to use it ouside when its dark.

ITs a graphics error. I disabled my other gtx 680 and it went away. night isnt supposed to be pitch black its supposed to be bright as hell even in the shadows.

I'm experiencing this as well. Trying to deal with Enhanced until a patch comes.

Quick fix, turn all your settings (your rig can handle) to max, and lighting to low! There is a bug with the Ambient Occlusion that causes all area in the shade to be pitch black.

Godrays are still botched on 1.6 patch. Entering caves and/or shadows in the day or night results in that area becoming pitch black. The game looks washed out on volumetric fog and plain ugly with it off; sticking with Godrays I guess.
