One fix here for Black/Gray Not Responding

Ubi are so f@#4ing fail.

If you get it just freezing at black/grey at startup forever and Not Responding then

- Unplug every gamepad / virtual joystick you have. That includes G13.
- Unplug any bluetooth USB dongles you have plugged in.
- Alternatively, go to device manager, Human Interface Devices, and disable them - for instance Logitech Gaming Virtual Mouse
- You may also need to remove USB hubs, anything plugged into USB. Apparently it's just some sort of uberfail (ubifail?) when enumerating USB devices.

You'll need to restart the game of course. Worked for me (TM)

Update: It seems particularly unhappy about my bluetooth audio and G13 - if I plug them back in while the game is playing it freezes up again and even unplugging them won't unfreeze it! For some reason it's perfectly fine with my XB1 USB controller.

wow...had no idea that would be related to devices. i disabled the G27 steering wheel i have installed and then it launched! NEVER would have thought that direction...thanks!

Bah, sorry about that GrauerWolf. I'm sure I haven't fully covered all the things that it might be failing on. It'd be worth opening up your device manager and looking for any virtual mouse, gamepad, or virtual joystick devices under Human Interface Devices and disabling them (just unplugging may not be enough!)

yes. basically you cant play unless you have a stock mouse and keyboard from best buy, or you want to use an xbox controller.

Have unplugged everything not needed. Unistaled everything not used and even tried with mouse only, later with keyboard only. Not workin either.
So seems in my line its not depending on the USB. :/

it is, you have to unplug your mouse and your keyboard if they are third party software.

play with a controller or dont play.

For me, I only had to disable "Bluetooth HID Device" under the "Human Interface Devices" section of the Divice Manager.

Screw that ♥♥♥♥, I shouldn't have to unplug a damn thing!!! If the freakin game wasn't ready to launch, they should've NOT launched it. I'm tired of paying stupid prices to be their testers....U want to test the damn game then pay me, instead of meing having to go through this ♥♥♥♥♥....

It's worth seeing if you can just get it to launch with nothing in at all except really dumb keyboard and/or mouse. If you can do that you know one of your devices is the 'problem'.

so i unplugged my joystick and the game works just fine, but it seems pretty stupid it wont launch without just a mouse and keyboard plugged in

For me the black windowed screen solution while using a G13 was go to:
Device Manager >Human Interface Devices>HID Compliant Game Controller > and Disable.

Now the game is running with my Logitech G13 keyboard plugged in while starting up the game.

Maybe this will work for other brands too?
