How to get an activation code?

I bought the game via Steam but Uplay asks me for an activation code. How to obtain it? I already paid for the game.

yea open a steam support account ASAP

again i dunno what the issue can be , since i got the game several years before steam changed the Uplay activations during the Steam Summer sale 2016

i bought the game the night it shipped (11\18\2014) and it put my key right in my steam games library

all i had to do was right click on far cry 4 in my steam games library and select veiw cd key

did the same thing about a month later when i added the season pass ..back then it just added another cd key , once i activated that key in Uplay the DLC started to DL over steam
(then i had to wait for it all to be released over the next 4 months ..but steam always updated it )



i already had Uplay installed and up to date since i own FarCry 3

was playing the base game 40 min after midnight the night it shipped

at the start of the steam summer sale my base game key dissappeared and now it only shows my season pass key

hey treb i just noticted at the start of the Steam summer sale they took away my far cry 3 blood dragon key too ..but it works .. got that game with far cry 3 and already activated it yrs ago .. but its still odd steam now shows no activation key at all for that game

still shows only 1 key for far cry 4 (the season pass one ..not the base game one)

and it also deleted my far cry 3 base game key ... now it only shows far cry 3 deluxe content key
it used to show 2 keys for that game too as far as i remember...


for far cry Primal i just said screw steam and bought a uplay only version of that game , also the day it shipped

steam wanted $59.99 the day it shipped i got it for $34.99 and i had alot less problems then Steam users were reporting with that game ..from now on i'll buy a Uplay only version of Ubi games ..since all steam does is add another layer of DRM and seems to screw up

all right man sorry i could not help .. next time buy a uplay only version of ubi games

you'll probably have alot less hassle ..saw that myself the day Primal shipped . glad i got it as a uplay single DRM version

dunno if this page will work in your region ..but it is a decent deal here in the USA

Edit : It worked. You may try launching uplay forst, logging in and openimg the game from steam afterwards.

I have tried it but it does not work. I have only managed to start it once (after the first install).

I'll try to reinstall it and clean registry entries related to Far Cry 4, maybe that'll help. Otherwise I should aim for refund which is very sad.

works fine here either refund it or contact Ubi support

your game should auto activate once you have the correct version of Uplay installed .

Steam does not provide the updated version of Uplay with the game files , the game is 2 yrs old ..

. yea you need to restart both steam and uplay then launch your game

others in that thred i posted said that method worked perfect

also make sure you have no ports being blocked by your Anti virus or firewall . modem or router ... that Uplay or the game needs to use .. see the tips section pinned to the top of the forum for a link about connection issues

This one was refunded and I have purchased another copy of Far Cry 4. Still nothing, same situation. I guess this is what you get for buying games.

But wait, the game works on another UPlay account. I have just registered a test account on UPlay and when I start, I now see "this will activate Far Cry 4, etc." screen. Wow!

Now what I think might work is removing old Far Cry 4 keys from my account. I have asked Ubisoft support to do that. Perhaps then it will let me activate Far Cry 4.

I know I am two years late to this post but if you have this problem open UPLAY then launch Farcry 4. I don't know if it will work for everyone but it asked me to bind the game to UPLAY and now it is running like normal.
